Our {Weekend}

I can actually say this weekend was relaxing and Z and I did not have one thing we HAD to do! I have missed weekends like this!

With Summer fast approaching I know our weekends will be more of what we want to do and less of what we have to do! I am very much looking forward to doing nothing all weekend but spending time by the pool!

Friday night we went out with some of Z's friends and saw The Lucky One at the Texas Movie Bistro in Fort Worth. I love the whole dinner/movie combo!

This movie was really good and they did such a good job following the book. It has been forever since I read the book that it was a really nice refresher!

And who doesn't love seeing Zac Efron - especially looking all rugged with his beard!

Saturday after not waking up until 9am (yes our dogs actually let us sleep) I drug Z out to run some errands and pick up flowers at Lowes!

This is our first experience at planting a flower bed....not too bad I think!

Sunday after church and seeing Z's grandparents I got to start reading Fifty Shades of Grey! So far this is a really good/steamy read! haha

I have a feeling I will read this series very quickly.

How was everyone's weekend? Have any of you started reading or already read Shades of Grey??

NOLA {Day Two} and {Day Three}

I know after day one I said I would post this one a day later - well two days later here we go!

So since day one was very eventful, I was ready to explore NOLA on Saturday and eat some good food! Eating good food was pretty much my entire mission the whole time I was there!

We had breakfast lunch at Acme Oyster House! Y'all this is a must if you go to NOLA!

Thanks to instagram this picture does not do these chargrilled oysters justice! These yummy things had melted garlic butter and cheese on them! Seriously my mouth is watering writing this!

Z and I decided to split a Po-Boy, this was a first for me, however this one had fried oysters on it and I learned real quick I am not a fan of those!

So my most favorite dessert ever??? BREAD PUDDING and this bread pudding from Acme is probably tied at first with the other best one I have ever had!

Since eating all of that was not enough I talked Z into get me a beignets!

Best place ever!

We also stopped in at the Riverside Restaurant to get a bloody Mary! This was my first one and I dont know if I can ever have another anywhere esle!

I snapped a picture of what a Big A$$ Beer looks like - when you see someone walking down the street holding one of these all you can do is laugh because they are that big!

Z and I outside of Margaritaville! We love everything Jimmy Buffet!

This is in the french market! You can just sit up at this bar and they will serve you fresh oysters!

This is the entrance of the French Market! Such a cool place and they have great vendors!

these people freak me out just a bit! I was so afraid they were going to touch me and get silver paint on my clothes! I like to watch them from afar!

This was such a pretty building and while we were taking pictures where were wedding parties all around us getting pictures taken!

This was our group dinner night! We all met at Pat O's and had a great dinner!

This is Z and I dancing at one of the bars on Bourbon (neither one of us can remember the name) We had such a good time breaking it down with all of my co-workers!

One of my co-workers, Keri, had this hat on and I had to get a "We're from Texas" picture with it!

This is a college age guy - seriouslly he went out with these shorts on and boots. He said that these booty shorts were for dropping it later while he was dancing!

Z and I are so old, we ended up going to sleep before midnight Saturday night - remember this is a judge free zone people!

______________________________________

Sunday was not a very eventful day - more of just walking around, checking out the beautiful buildings and eating lunch at Margaritaville!

On the way to lunch this was in the street.....

...yes that is a human dressed like a horse. I was so afraid of him or her! I just knew they were going to chase after me!

After eating lunch I caught one more opportunity to drive Z crazy and document our vacation, life, love, etc for our little babies 50 million years down the road!

After this event packed weekend I can honestly say that I had my fun in NOLA but probably will not be heading back anytime soon.

I am sooo not the stay out until 4 am and drink all night type!

NOLA {Day One}

Hello Everyone! I have finally recovered enough from this weekend to write about it! I think this morning was the hardest to wake up!

This is a recap of our first night because it was a whole day with in its self!

We got to the airport a bit early so we were able to get the party started!

This is me and some of my co-workers waiting in line at Chili's - we ended up staring down an older man until he said we could sit with him!

Most of the group and right before the TSA told us that we were too much of a rowdy group and that it would be a hefty fine if they had to turn the plane around...like really?!

We were just trying to have a good time!

Our flight was probably the worst flight I have ever had. We had a guy sitting next to us that was about to have a heart attack/ anxiety attack the whole 1 hour 20 minutes plane ride. I really felt bad for the guy but if I was that scared of planes I would just drive everywhere.

Second, our trip was very VERY very bumpy - like I swear our plane dropped a little in the sky and I may or may not have screamed at the top of my lungs!

Also, since we did get the "party" started early, I could not hold going to the little girls room. The male flight attendant had just made an announcement that we needed to stay seated (that I did not hear) when I got up to go to the bathroom. He tried to yell at me about staying in my seat but as he could clearly see I was already up!

He so kindly allowed me to go to the restroom - I sort of started a domino effect, because after I got up like 3 other people did as well! Whoops!

We had this guy waiting for us with our really cool party bus when we arrived in NOLA.

It may have had a stripper pole.....

....and I may have showed some of my co-workers what I learned in my pole dancing class! And I may still be sore from doing so...

When we finally arrived at our hotel a parade was making its way down the street! I later found out that they parade around the bride and groom and everyone waves white hanker chiefs!

I am not a gambler, nor do I even like the fact of losing money when I could take it somewhere and buy something I want! I was a super big winner with my $5 and won 6 cents! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

When Z had gone to NOLA for his friends bachelor party, he came across this super yummy drinks called hand grenades - super yummy but super full of alcohol!

We then moved on to Pat O'Briens Hurricanes! They are so good and you cant taste the alcohol....maybe that's not a good thing

This is pam, whitney and I at Pat O's

Me, my man and his beads! He worked really hard for them!

This is outside of Pat O's and would be even better if my eyes were not closed!

This is a very literal statement - these are the biggest bottle beers I have ever seen in my life!

This is the picture that Pam and I sent Stoney Larue - if you don't know him look him up! I always try to get him to tweet me back! And he did retweet us that night! And where we "think" we had the best slice of pizza ever... at 3 am.

Finally - before the night was over I spotted a turtle! Since I am a DZ I always have to freak when I see a turtle....always.

Some requirements if you plan on going to NOLA soon -

  •  Wearing anything but rain boots or something that completely covers your foot is an absolute NO on Bourbon - I may have stepped in pee water or something! Also I saw a girl bust it so bad in heels and a dress that I am sure her knees looked like hamburger meat as her boyfriend carried her the rest of the way
  • You have to get a Beignet! Yummy yummy in my tummy!
  • You have to have a bloody mary at the Riverside Restaurant right across the street from Cafe De Monde!
  • You have to have the chargrilled oysters at Acme Oyster!
Day 2 coming tomorrow!

Product Review - All About My {Hurr}

Girls I do not know about you, but I put my poor hair through a lot....from washing and drying it pretty much ever day, as well as curling, ratting and hair spray...I am surprised I have the hair that I do!

I had been looking for something that would give my hair some nutrients and condition it at the same time, when I came across a blog post from Style Me Swanky.

She posted a whole blog about becoming more beautiful over night...read it here.

That is when I found this miracle worker!!

This deep repair is like putting lotion on your hair. I was a little freaked out the first time I put it on my hair just because of the way it feels, however it works really well.

I put it on my hair every Sunday before bed. I normally just wet my hair, brush it, apply the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque, comb it through my hair and then wrap my hair in a bun on top of my head.

In the morning I wake up and wash my hair like normal.

This has really helped my hair tremendously....it says you can use it two times a week, my hair is not that dry so I just apply on Sundays.

For a pretty big size tub is only $30 at Ulta, and I just saw this yesterday at Target for $29.99.

I have used this now for a little over a month and have not made a dent in it. I know $30 is a lot to spend on something you only use once a week, however it will last you a while.

Do you girls have anything that is a miracle worker for your hair?? Do share!

Our {Weekend}

***Warning this post contains a lot of pictures***

Friday after a very busy day at work and having the worst sinus headache, I caught up on my Cooking Light magazine while Z went to hit golf balls.

 Normally I find that I want to cook every recipe in the Cooking Light magazines, however this last issue only had a couple. I will be making the below french toast very soon for Z and me!

My mouth is watering just looking at the picture!

Saturday morning after dropping our little fur babies off at Petsmart, I decided to make homemade chocolate chip cookies!

I had not used my Kitchen aid mixer in a while, so it needed some attention.

This picture really does not do the cookies justice....they were as big as my hand and really yummy! The recipe came from the back of the chocolate chip bag!

$200 later after leaving Petsmart, our fur babies are super clean and have matching hounds tooth harnesses.

Louie could care less about the harness, but Ace (our difficult child) is trying to boycott it by not walking at.all.

We went to my parents house Saturday afternoon and my mom surprised me with my favorite little fatty treat...Cherry Mash and a Big Red! Seriously if you have not had these two things together you are missing out!

Saturday was a very busy day for me! I also had a Stella and Dot trunk show at my friend Abby's house! It was so good getting to catch up with her and see her adorable house!

Sunday after church and getting a nap in, Z and I headed to Target for our weekly grocery shopping. We are leaving Friday for New Orleans, so I was on the hunt for a crossbody!

I got this fringe one at Target I was so excited to find this one! And it was only $24!! Holla!!!

Z told me the fringe looks like something Miley Cyrus would wear...but I like her so I will take it!

After eating the horrible below on Sunday...Z and I did our Insanity workout...I about died! I guess it does go to show that you need to put healthy stuff in your body or you will almost (key work "almost) throw up when working out!

And lastly...Last night before heading to bed we started the count down to New Orleans!!! I am so excited to go to New Orleans with Z and my co-workers! I plan on gaining back the 2.9 pounds I have lost so far....

Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a even better Monday!!
